Trivia
HardWhich State Has The Highest Density Of Tornado Touch Downs?
Answer: Florida
When it comes to counting tornadoes, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration tracks every single one, big or small, enormous damage or none. By that count, Florida (and not its blustery neighbors on the Great Plains like Oklahoma) has the highest density of tornado activity in the United States. The state averages nearly 10 tornadoes per year, per 10,000 square miles (which puts the total density of tornadoes in the state at nearly twice the levels found in places like Oklahoma and Texas).
Thankfully for the citizens of Florida, the majority of tornadoes in the state are rated F0 and F1; compared to the F4 and F5 tornadoes that can rip through the central United States, the smaller tornadoes in Florida do significantly less damage despite their frequency.
