The Voice Actor Behind Iconic Sesame Street Character Elmo Was Also The Voice Of?

Optimus Prime
Hank Hill
Master Splinter
Principal Skinner

Answer: Master Splinter

Although we often come to associate voice actors with their most iconic roles, skilled voice actors sure get around (accomplished voice actor Frank Oz, for example, was the voice of Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Sam Eagle, Yoda, Bert, Cookie Monster, and Grover, over the years).

In that same vein we find Kevin Clash, the voice behind iconic Sesame Street character Elmo, in some unexpected places. Not only has Clash voiced multiple characters on the 1990s puppet sitcom Dinosaurs (most notably the sassy-talking Baby Sinclair), but also Clifford, the Muppets Tonight host and bass player, and a host of minor characters along the way (like the puppet guardsmen in the 1986 hit Labyrinth). He’s also voiced a very un-Elmo-esque character.

In the 1990 live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (and the direct sequels), the voice of the rodent grandmaster and ninja-turtle trainer Master Splinter was voiced by none other than Clash, a voice actor best known for bringing to life the infectious giggle and incessant questions of a lovable red muppet monster.
