Lucia Peters

Lucia Peters is a writer and editor based in Washington, D.C. She covers a sprawling and diverse array of topics, including but not limited to food and wine, web culture, science, pets, career, money, weird history, true crime, urban legends, travel, and more.

Her work has appeared at Bustle, The Toast, Crushable, The Gloss, and others. She also writes and manages the website The Ghost In My Machine, where she haunts readers several times weekly with spooky stories of the strange and unusual. Her first book, Dangerous Games To Play In The Dark, was published by Chronicle Books in September of 2019.

Originally a director and stage manager, Lucia holds degrees from Barnard College and the New School for Drama. These days, she puts her theatre skills to good use over-analyzing every movie and TV show she watches, every book she reads, every podcast she listens to, and every video game she plays. Right now, she’s also probably trying to stop her two cats from jumping up on the kitchen counter, where they are definitely not allowed to be.
